Dunmore
In 1865, the southern division of the Peterborough Estate of Shellharbour was advertised for sale. George Laurence Fuller bought the property, 2560 acres on the Minnamurra River, and called his new estate Dunmore after his old family home in Ireland.
By 1880, George owned some 9000 acres of the original Peterborough Estate extending from Lake Illawarra to the Minnamurra River and west to Croom. His home Dunmore House was built of local rubble on 200 acres set aside for use by the Fuller family. The remainder of the land was divided into small tenant farms.
